How can we treat Acne? A daily skincare Routine for Acne Prone Skin.

1- Start your mornings with washing your face using a foaming gel cleanser containing a gentle cleansing ingredients as Ammonium Lauryl Sulfate, benzoyl peroxide or salicylic acid, Chamomile & Hamamelis (Witch Hazel) extracts. As we mentioned in our previous posts, using an Acne face wash gel is proven to be more effective in treating acne than regular rinse-off wash products. Make sure to always rinse off your cleanser using room temperature water and not hot water.

2- Spray your face with a non-alcoholic Face Toner that contains a hydrating ingredients as well. We previously talked about how Witch Hazel & Chamomile could be great ingredients to look for in your face toner. Another amazing ingredients that has anti-inflammatory & anti-oxidant qualities for your skin is Cucumis Sativus Fruit extract. Cucumis Sativus Fruit is actually the INCI name of Cucumber Plant extract. Cucumbers contain Vitamin K that is proven to improve skin's elasticity. It also helps repairing any skin damages, lubricate the skin and makes it softer. You can easily formulate a nice and easy face toner using Cucumber juice and only one drop of Lemon. I love how Lemon can reduce any excess oils on your skin and magically brightens & clears your skin but unfortunately, not everyone's skin can tolerate lemon or citrus in general and some people can have skin irritation, sensitivity or redness if any citrus ingredients are applied to their skin. This is why I would recommend using only one drop of lemon with every 3 table spoons of cucumber Juice in the beginning and watch how your skin will react to it and if you didn't have any skin reaction you can increase it to two or three drops. Apply this amazing toner using cotton pads every morning for best results and store it in your fridge after that if you still have anything left of it. If your skin gets red or irritated, don't panic, use this amazing tip of applying 1 spoon of any powder milk mixed with 2-3 cold Rose water (you should always have this in your fridge) and apply it to your skin using a cotton pad or just your fingertips. Leave it for 3 mins then rinse off using cold water.

3- Exfoliate, but gently. Some people believe that exfoliating can make your Acne worse. This only happens if your Acne is inflamed or if your skin is irritated. In fact, a gentle face exfoliant is really very beneficial for Acne Prone Skin and helps in preventing cells build up that results in clogged pores & Acne. Good ingredients to look for in your Exfoliate, are Salicylic Acid, Jojoba & Sugar Beads, Mint & Aloe Vera Extracts. You can use an Exfoliate only twice a week. Do not Exfoliate everyday as you don't want to irritate your skin. However, there is a Follicle Exfoliant treatment that can be used up to 4 times a week as an effective treatment of Acne & other skin's problems as scars, discoloration, age spots, etc... It helps preventing Acne Breakouts, it removes skin dead cells and makes a way for new skin cell generation. It gradually reduces acne & black heads and It can also brightens & clears the skin while healing the acne scars as well as promoting collagen production. This Follicle Exfoliant is called Alpha Hydroxy Acid (AHA). The strength & concentration level of AHA should be determined by the severity of the Acne or the skin problem you have but the FDA only recommends using AHA products with an overall AHA concentration of less than 10% to prevent any side effects as burning or itching. AHA products are very well known of their strong effects and great results, but they aren't for everyone. It's always better to speak to a dermatologist or a skin care specialist before trying any new product that contains any Acids on your skin.

4- Use an oil-free face moisturizer that is non-comedogenic so it will not clog your pores. A non-Comedogenic sunscreen could also be used.

5- You can apply an under eye Cream but make sure that it is non-comedogenic as well, as the upper cheek areas tend to be more sensitive and clog prone.

6- You can apply any non-comedogenic makeup after following these steps to make sure it won't clog the pores or cause any skin breakout.

An effective Acne treatment that helps absorbing excess oils from the skin, draws out all impurities and minimizes the large pores on your skin while gradually clearing up your skin from all Acne, acne scars, black or white heads and any skin breakouts, is Clay Masks...
